These are microscope images (micrographs) of a thin section (30 microns thick) of a meteorite. The Allende meteorites fell in 1969 at Pueblito de Allende, Mexico. Field of view here is about 3mm. Photographed with a DSLR attached to a petrographic microscope using cross-polarized light.
